Pitch question 14. How have you used conventions from real media text in your planning?

In our planning we looked at other music videos of the same genre which is pop. We looked at the editing of other music videos and we have noticed that there are a lot of close up shots of the lead singer. There is a lot of fast pace editing to show emotions. Most of the pop we watched had a narrative and there video was an amplification of the lyrics rather than an illustration.

An excellent example is from cheryl cole's music video for fight for this love. It is an amplification. In this music video there is numerous amounts of close up's of her face. There is also a lot of special effects to create an atmosphere.

When we did a lip sync tutorial we also used close ups of the person acting as the singer to relate it to a real music video. We planned to use a variety of shots, including close up's, long shots, high angle shots and low angle shots. In our storyboard we drew up a plan of using a split screen in our video. This is similar to a music video we have watched.
