Our music video relates to the Andrew Godwin theory of illustration, amplification and disjuncture. Our music video shows a amplification as the video introduces new meanings that do not contradict with the lyrics but add layers of meaning. For example the lyrics are about her breaking up with her boyfriend, but he is trying to get back with her. Instead of making his life easy she is making it hard, making him pay for breaking up with her.
A video that influenced our music video was Rihanna- Take a bow. This song is similar to Lily allen smile, this video is amplified just like ours.
This is a screenshot from the music video Rihanna- Take a bow. This was one shot that helped influence our music video, it is a close-up of the artist suggesting that she is strong, and connects with the audience.
Here our singer Amelia echo's the same close up shot as Rihanna, helping to engage with the audience.
This is another screenshot from the video of the guy Rihanna is singing about. He looks very sad and upset that Rihanna won't take him back. His head is held low suggesting no hope also looking ashamed of his past actions.
This is a screen shot from the our music video. This is similar to Rihanna's music video. Our music video shows the guy is sitting on the steps with his head down low. Again this helps connect with the audience of how he might be feeling.
The digipak on the left is one that I was influenced by and the one on the right is the inside panel of my digipak. When I was researching digipak designs on google, I came across this very unusual and eye catching digipak. Although I do not know who the artist is, I really liked the colour scheme and the design patterns that have been put on there. This has been a major influence with my digipak as the heart on the CD is similar to the heart I put on the CD, I used a heart for where the CD goes as well.
On the left is the front cover of Pixie lott's album and on the right is the front cover of Amelia's album. I was influenced by Pixie lott's album cover as it has the artists face on the front of the cover. This is mainly the same for all solo female artists.
